Recap

Sunday. Tomorrow is school. Last term of college ever. Woah.

Here are a few things I spent my time doing over break!

Crafting:

Old metal button from my grandma. I fastened it with brass wire, and it took all of five minutes to make. It’s fashionable and since I already had the materials it cost me nothing!

I also made a canvas with one of my favorite sayings, and painted quite a bit.

Eating:

My family went out for three meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner. We went to Lucca, an Italian restaurant on Beaumont up the hill from us. Last spring I ate Italian pizza for three months, and Lucca knows its thin crust. If you aren’t familiar with this place, please venture there! It’s a favorite, and it was a very enjoyable night for my brother’s first experience there.

Our next meal out was breakfast at The Country Cat. My parents had been talking this up since they went in early March. I had the cinnamon french toast, which was suppose to be just a Saturday special, but according to our waitress, since they it was featured in the Portland Monthly magazine for top breakfasts, it has become the month’s special. Lot of hype! It was good, and I ended up dipping more of my toast in the homemade cream than syrup.

To close out spring break, my family and I ended our trilogy of meals out at Irving Street Kitchen in the Pearl. Four out of six of us ordered the avocado gruyere cheeseburger, while my mom ordered a tasty looking salad, and I being a sucker for breakfast, ordered off their brunch menu, and went with the salmon benedict on scrumptious homemade biscuits. I will definitely go back for dinner (we swooned over that menu as well). Not to mention it would be so cool to have a private party there (graduation party anyone?). The space is very open with a large bar in the middle. It’s worth your while just to stop in and admire the light fixtures, decor, and take in the elements of wood, metal and old brick.

Baking:

I never bake, but somehow carved out time for my favorite carrot zucchini muffins, and  made enough to bring some back to Eugene with me!

I enjoyed happy hours, coffee dates, and night out at these trendy places with lovely people: Oba, Whiskey Soda Lounge/Pok Pok, Bakery Bar, Nuvrei, and Silver Dollar. I got away to Neskowin, OR for a few days, and spend some quality time with family. I loved my break in the City of Roses!
